Deep Pressure Without Pain
Developed by Ruthie Hardy as a result of her own scoliosis and disk pain from bending over the table to deliver deep tissue massage, this barefoot massage technique uses deep compression effleurage (Swedish) strokes that glide over the body. Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy provides the deepest massage possible by utilizing the therapist’s body weight and parallel bars on the ceiling for balance and pressure. Deep therapeutic relaxation results when muscles are manipulated by the therapist sweeping, pressing and swirling deep muscle layers. This technique is deeply relaxing, similar to a traditional Swedish massage with the additional benefit of stimulation of the lymphatic system.
